About Chum Chum Recipe: hum Chum is a traditional Bengali sweet and is quite similar to Rasgulla. Most people don't know that Chum Chum has a filling inside it while the Rasgulla plain and simple without any filling. Ingredients of Chum Chum : This dessert recipe is mostly prepared during Durga Puja and is made using homemade chenna and milk.
Ingredients Of Chum Chum
1 litre cow milk
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon milk powder
2 teaspoon milk
1/2 teaspoon powdered green cardamom
1 teaspoon all purpose flour
1 tablespoon vinegar
2 tablespoon powdered sugar
1 tablespoon ghee
6 strands saffron
How to Make Chum Chum

How to make Chum Chum
Step 1 Boil milk and then curdle it with vinegar To prepare this easy recipe, put a pan over medium flame and boil 1-litre milk in it. Once it comes to a boil, add vinegar or lemon juice in it and stir well. Let the milk curdle and once done, strain the whey in a bowl using muslin or cheesecloth and use it when required. Make sure you don't drain the whey as its quite nutritious.
Step 2 Hang the muslin cloth for 20-25 minutes Squeeze the muslin cloth gently and hang for 20 to 25 minutes.
Step 3 Knead the dough After 25 minutes of hanging, remove the chhena in a plate. Now, add it in a dough-kneading plate and combine the chenna and maida together, and knead a soft dough using your palms for 10 minutes.
Step 4 Make oval-shaped balls Now, divide the dough into 6 to 7 equal portions and make small oval-shaped balls for making the chum chum.
Step 5 Prepare the sugar syrup Now, put a saucepan over medium flame and combine sugar and water in it. Allow it to boil over medium flame for 4 to 5 minutes. Your sugar syrup is ready now.
Step 6 Boil Chum Chum in sugar syrup for 15 minutes Now, add chum chum in the sugar syrup and boil on a medium flame for 10 to 15 minutes. Now, drain and remove the cooked chum chum on a plate and keep aside.
Step 7 Prepare the stuffing for Chum Chum Now, we will make the stuffing. In a pan, combine together ghee, sugar powder, milk powder, milk cream and saffron strands for the stuffing and cook for 5 to 6 minutes. Your stuffing is ready.
Step 8 Make a slit in Chum Chum Take the oval-shaped balls and slit the chum chum length-wise.
Step 9 Add filling in Chum Chum Now, take a little filling prepared earlier and stuff in the centre of the oval-shaped balls and roll them on dedicated coconut.
Step 10 Refrigerate the Chum Chums for an hour and serve chilled Your Chum Chums are ready. Refrigerate them for an hour and serve chilled.
